Young Parent Payment : Contents
Opting out of youth money management
Young people who are not subject to a sanction will be able to get their full payment directly, when they have:
- turned 20 years old
- chosen to stay on Young Parent Payment to complete their course of study, training or work-based learning and
- provided written notice to their service provider or Work and Income "in-house" service that they opt out of money management
This applies even if they haven't been getting Young Parent Payment long enough to have earned all the incentives available to them.
