Redirection of Young Parent Payment

For young people subject to youth money management the Young Parent Payment, family tax credit, Best Start tax credit and any ongoing Extra help must be redirected to pay for:

• the young person's accommodation and service costs, for example rent, board, power, phone
• the young person's lawful debts or other liabilities, for example Child Support payments, MSD debts
• food and groceries via a payment card

Note Disability Allowance and Child Disability Allowance are paid directly to the young person.
