Weekend leave
New Zealand Superannuation is paid for a fourteen day period, covering Wednesday to Tuesday.
Therefore, where the client is receiving the hospital rate and they are on weekend leave you should pay the appropriate full rate of New Zealand Superannuation for the number of days the client is on leave and subsequently incurring additional expenses in the community.
Example
Client is on leave from Friday to Monday, you will need to pay the appropriate full rate of New Zealand Superannuation for 4 days. Generally, you will do this by completing a back dated review so that SWIFTT will pay the appropriate full rate of New Zealand Superannuation for 4 days.
Note the dates of admission and discharge are not regarded as days spent in hospital.
