Change in circumstances at point of referral

Clients applying for social housing must tell us straight away of any change in circumstances or their family's situation so that they can be referred to a suitable property that best meets their housing needs (property requirements).

However, there may be some instances where a client has a change in circumstances which is only identified when they have been referred to a social housing provider for a property viewing.

When the property no longer matches the client's new circumstances the provider will withdraw the offer and the client's eligibility for social housing needs to be reviewed.

While the client's eligibility for social housing is being reviewed they cannot be referred to a housing provider until their circumstances have been confirmed.
