Changes and reviews
Prior to a client being allocated social housing (that is, while they are on the register) a client must generally tell MSD straight away of any change in their circumstances that may affect their entitlement to social housing.
Note clients do not need to advise MSD when they get, or have a change to, information share Child Support payments.
A change in circumstances may result in a change to the household composition, the housing need (priority), household needs (property requirements) and the indicative rate of Income Related Rent.
However, when a change in circumstances means the client is no longer at risk or has no serious housing need, they are removed from the register.
Where a client cannot be contacted during a register review, they must be removed from the register as the client's eligible social housing cannot be confirmed.
A letter to confirm must be sent.
