Continued compliance with their obligations
Generally a young person will be considered to have demonstrated continued compliance with their obligations when:
- they have earned all of the incentives that are available to them or
- where a young person has a full or partial exemption, the service provider or Work and Income "in-house" service is satisfied that the young person is engaging with the provider as is required and
- the young person has not had an activity obligations failure in the last six months
Note after a sanction has been imposed, the young person will be returned to youth money management. To earn the right to manage their money again, the service provider or Work and Income "in-house" service will need to be satisfied that the young person has been demonstrating a continued compliance with their obligations.
Earning all of the incentives available to them
For young people getting Young Parent Payment to have the option of not being subject to youth money management they would need to earn the following incentive payments:
- budgeting
- education and
- parenting
A young person who has a full or partial exemption for their activity obligations is only be able to earn those incentive payments which apply to their current obligations.
