In or available for work-based learning
A young person can receive Young Parent Payment if they are in or available for, full-time approved work-based learning and meet the other qualifications.
Generally the work-based learning will lead to a NCEA level 2 qualification or an equivalent or higher qualification.
In SWIFTT the Young Parent Payment activity should be recorded as 'work-based learning'. An expiry date should be added for the course end date. At this time you should reassess the Young Parent Payment, for example, check with the young person if they intend to undertake another training course.
