Changes and reviews

Caregivers have an obligation to advise MSD of any changes in their circumstances that may affect their entitlement to Orphan's Benefit and Unsupported Child's Benefit. Any such change may affect the caregivers' ability to get Clothing Allowance for Orphans and Unsupported Children.

A benefit can also be reviewed at any time to check that the caregiver still meets the qualifications and is receiving the correct rate of payment.

Mandatory Review for Orphan's Benefit and Unsupported Child's Benefit

MSD must review a caregivers Orphan's Benefit or Unsupported Child's Benefit within 52-weeks of when their benefit commenced, or within 52-weeks from when the caregivers last Mandatory Review was completed.

While there are no Mandatory Reviews for Clothing Allowance, if a caregiver doesn't respond to their Mandatory Review for their Orphan's Benefit or Unsupported Child's Benefit and the benefit suspends, the Clothing Allowance for Orphans and Unsupported Children will also suspend.
