Clients donating an organ income test and asset test

Emergency Benefit is income and asset tested. However, different rules apply to the payment of Emergency Benefit when the client has donated a kidney or liver tissue.

Income test

When a client has been transferred to Emergency Benefit, the applicable Jobseeker Support or Sole Parent Support income test applies to the Emergency Benefit.

Asset test

Clients donating a kidney or liver tissue must not be disadvantaged by this donation and do not have an asset test applied to their Emergency Benefit.
