Tenancy reviews : Contents
Assessing whether tenant still qualifies for social housing
When completing a tenancy review, MSD needs to check if the tenant still qualifies for social housing.
MSD has to consider:
- residence requirements
- income and asset limits
- whether the household has a persistent housing need that is serious or severe and must be addressed immediately as determined by:
- affordability - whether a person can afford (with any financial assistance and resources available to them) suitable alternative housing
- accessibility - whether a person has access to housing other than social housing
- sustainability - the likelihood of a person being able to sustain alternative housing
Requesting information for social housing criteria
MSD can contact a tenant in writing to ask for information when checking if the tenant still qualifies for social housing.
MSD can also write to any third party (using the Code of Conduct for getting information) to check if the information given by the tenant is correct.
