Tenancy reviews restart
Tenancy reviews were paused in March 2020 due to COVID-19 and restarted on 25 March 2024.
MSD does tenancy reviews for social housing tenants once every 3 years, or when a tenant has a change in circumstances that may mean they no longer qualify for social housing.
3 yearly tenancy reviews will generally apply to tenants who:
- have held their tenancy for 3 years or more and
- pay market rent and
- are not exempt from 3 yearly tenancy reviews
These tenants are more likely to be able to access and sustain private housing. MSD will still need to consider the tenant's full circumstances to determine whether the household can move into private housing.
