Tenant still qualifies for social housing
When a tenant qualifies for social housing they either:
- have no change to their housing requirements (they are in the best property for their circumstances)
- have a change to their housing requirements that mean their current property is no longer suitable for their assessed needs and their social housing provider may require them to move to a more suitable one
The tenant won't have another tenancy review for 3 years, unless they have a change in circumstances that means another review is needed.
No change in housing requirements
If there has been no change to the tenant's housing requirements, they can remain in their current property.
MSD must advise the social housing provider that the tenant still qualifies for social housing and there is no change to their current housing requirements.
Change in housing requirements
If there has been a change to the tenant's housing requirements that means their current property no longer meets their needs, MSD will advise the social housing provider.
The social housing provider is responsible for deciding whether to act on this information and relocate the client to an available property that meets their new needs.
